The Mountaineer Folk Festival's jam-packed schedule includes handmade crafts, two stages of traditional mountain music, demonstrations of pioneer skills, country cooking and much more. Don't miss this event!

Each year Fall Creek Falls State Park, in conjunction with the Friends of Fall Creek Falls and the Tennessee Arts Commission, proudly presents a display of the Cumberland Plateau’s rich cultural heritage. Traditions which have existed for many decades in the region are expertly demonstrated and preformed.

Time & Location

The Mountaineer Folk Festival takes place at Fall Creek Falls State Park in the Village Green Area. Official kick off will be Friday, September 10th, at 7:00pm and will last until 10pm (cst). Hours on Saturday the 11th are 8:00 am till 10:00 pm and Sunday the 12th 8:00 am until approximately 5:00 pm.

Original Handmade Items

One of the objectives of the Mountaineer Folk Festival is to support the development of arts and crafts in the state of TN. Crafters may only sell original handmade items. All items must be hand crafted by the exhibitor. Mass production works, works made from commercial molds or patterns, silk or dried flower arrangements, pressed flowers, or objects composed largely of commercial mountings are Not acceptable.

Crafter / Vendor Application

The Mountaineer Folk Festival is coordinated by the Friends of Fall Creek Falls. The vendor application can be found in the main menu under "Applications".

Camping During the Mountaineer Folk Festival

Because the Mountaineer Folk Festival takes place at Fall Creek Falls State Park the campground in the park fills up quickly and many months in advance. However, don't worry. Mountain Glen RV Park & Campground is only a short and scenic 15 minute drive away. Enjoy everything the Mountaineer Folk Festival has to offer during the day and retreat to Mountain Glen in the evening to enjoy a quiet, beautiful setting with lots of amenities and plenty of room for any size RV. Directions (from Mountain Glen)
Turn LEFT out of Mountain Glen onto Brockdell Rd - drive approximately 6 miles.
Turn RIGHT onto Old TN-111 - drive approximately 1.2 miles.
Turn RIGHT onto Archie Rhinehart Pkwy (284) - drive approximately 6.2 miles.
Arrive at Fall Creek Falls State Park south entrance and follow signs.
